Global Leadership Academy is designed for students who have a desire to explore global issues, perform community service, as well as learn and demonstrate leadership skills. LEADERSHIP: Leaders (with) Empathy, Awareness, Dedication, Enthusiasm, Respect, Service, Harmony, Integrity, and Perseverance. Students participate in activities which cultivate global awareness and a peer mediation program (i.e. United Way Student & Youth-Based Mediation Program) where students will train to mentor other students and collaborate to resolve conflicts.

Debating skills, emphasis on the arts and technology in order to bring awareness to global issues, as well as our Cadet program are some of the offerings in this academy. Global Leadership Academy also sponsors the Reed Annual Multicultural Fair which encompasses the entire Reed Middle School community.

Global Leadership Academy field trips include the Reagan Discovery Center, UCLA/USC campus tours, California Science Center, Museum of Tolerance, LACMA, Getty Villa, Getty Center, Japanese American National Museum, Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), California African-American Museum, and the Skirball Center.
